HEALTH CARE STATION

In September 2000 within the School „Milan Petrovic“ the first specialized Health care station that takes care of children and youth with special needs from Novi Sad and it's surrounding places, has been established.

This is the first specialized Ambulance of this type established in Serbia. It treats children and youth with:

• cerebral paralysis

• damaged eyesight

• mental retardation

• autism

Activities:

• Prevention and treatment of 850 children and youth with different handicaps and with special needs,

• Cooperates with Institutes and clinics,

• Cooperates with the team of experts, professional services unit, correction services and associates.

Team of experts:

Psychiatrist

• Organize education health-care education in all school facilities

• Works with children and helps structuring classes

• Follows class dynamics

• Medical therapy

• Works with parents

• Counseling

• Therapy work with groups

• Cooperates with teachers and associates

PEDIATRICIAN

• Follows growth, physical and psychological development by children

• Prevents and controls virulent diseases, including sexually transmitted

• Follows and resolves problems in education, cooperating with student's parents

• Follows and resolves problems in everyday life which might be relevant for adaptation in social surrounding, cooperating with students and their parents

DENTIST

• "Prevention instead treatment" or "Prevention before treatment"

• Prevention program: education and motivation for mouth hygiene – work in small groups and individually

• Caries treatment

• Gums treatment

• One visit treatment

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

• Conduct diagnostics and determines the treatment for already existing abnormalities

• Organizes preventive and corrective work

• Cooperates with parents, psychiatrist, orthopedist and pediatrician
