The School "Milan Petrović" represents itself a Center in which 240 experts takes care about 860 children who are:

• NURTURED – in facilities for children of pre-school age ( children with lightly and moderate mental retardation, children with physical disability, children with autism, blind and children with damaged eyesight ),

• EDUCATED – in NOvi Sad as well as in dislocated departments in Backi Jarak, Kovilj, Beocin, Kisac, Mosorin, Sremski Karlovci, Sajkas, Sirig, Kac and Sangaj in Serbian, Hungarian and Slovak language ( children with lightly mental retardation, children with physical disability, blind and children with damaged eyesight ),

• TRAINED – to acquire 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd level of knowledge needed for work in tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing, graphic, florist, bakery, binder, shoemaker, house painting, cooking, weaving, agriculture and tilery workshops ( pupils with lightly mental retardation ),

• NOURISHED – educate, organize vocational training and recondition in Day-care facility ( children, youth and adults with moderate and multiply mental retardation ),

• REHABILITATED – children, youth and adults with autism.

• STIMULATED TO CREATE – in order to assemble all friends as well as in order to support the School, each year children's art colony “Between two bridges” and the fine art colony “At the Canal between two bridges” – and auction of fine arts pieces which has a humanitarian character, is organized. Our pupils are asserted trough school competition activities, participation in city manifestations, exhibitions, fashion events, concerts and other activities. Creative workshop delivers original products such as: “Unusual Book”, “The Window of Vojvodina”, festivity cards, ornamental and decorative objects, unique products made in weaving workshop... The Pupil's Co-operation “Zare” sells the products and offers services. With a support from educators our pupils are improving their life conditions and feeling of safety.

Within the Secondary School 10 workshops are active as well as 10 workshops in Day-care facilities, for youth and adults with moderate mental retardation.
During the school year 1993/94, the Pupil's Co-operation “Zare” was established. It's goal is socializing among the pupils, teachers, parents and all school friends that can and wish to support our pupils in improvement of their life and working conditions.

School workshops are offering services to citizens. Income that is created this way is used for summer holidays, school excursions, purchase of school books, accessories and tools needed for work. Thank to creative spirit and energy of our pupils, their parents and teachers, within the pupil's Co-operation the Creative workshop was set up. In the process of collective work we created many original products and among them are:

• Unusual book

• The Window of Vojvodina

• festivity cards

• ornamental and decorative objects made of clay

• didactic material

• horticulture products

• unique products made in weaving workshop that are well known outside the school as well.

“Studio MP” is the store of school workshop products. It is situated in the downtown in Zeljeznicka str. 26. The hairdressing Shop “Ona i On” is situated in Futoska str. 60, while the horticulture facilities and florist workshop “MP Sad” are situated in Cenej, Medjunarodni put 238

The pupils who are finishing 3 rd level of qualification are included in the program of extended rehabilitation in the School's workshops. Extended rehabilitation's program lasts two years. The first year is financed by the Employment Office and after completing it our pupils are supported in finding the adequate working position..
